Thread For 2010 BHC WARMUP TOURNEY(submit your catches here)
Team Hard Hookers hit both coasts hard.. catching around 10 blacktips (only eight photos), met some cool people.. met up with Josh Jorgensen - he helped us out with the takin photos among other things (thanks Josh).. the old man had on a big hammer (estimated 9 footer) that was lost in the surf.. we were heartbroken.. cought bunch of tippers throughout on baits intended for bigger fish (oh well) and one big nasty bull by james bois.. here they are: good luck to all

Then this is all we got on the west coast.. dang worthless sandbar sharks!

East Coast Bull .. caught by james bois

Here is another black tip from Hammer Fever. I happened to hook a monster again, that ate an 80lb amberjack head and stripped me from 3/4 spool on my 14/0 to 25 yards of line left on my reel. the monster got caught on some rocky bottom and eventually popped me off, even after my attempt to kayak the full length of a 14/0 out in the pitch black night to try pulling her off the bottom.
Although my wife Sandra and I didnt contribute close to what we're capable of, we did put 5 tippers on the board and were hooked up on maybe the biggest shark of the year again from land. We fished everyday of the tournament, and covered hundreads of dollars in gas and expenses fishing all around south florida and even a bit outside, to places like ft.pierce and etc. I want to thank my wife Sandra for riding with the boys Hard Core for days, and showing every one that she can fish(ask hammer, willy, jimmy ,and lizard, how good she sets the hook for a girl).

Another freakin black tip

I see 0 bulls in those pictures. I think the anglers may have mistaken them for sandbars. Cape Haze has what apears to be all sand bars which dont count, or do they? Either way cape haze, and hard hookers props to you guys for excellent catches!!!!Who ever wins , wins, regardless i had a ball and got to fight a huge fish!!!!

Here is Team Hammer Fever's last shark of the competition.I Finnaly got my Team member Kenny to fish with us after his recent hospital stay.Welcome back Kenny!!.Kenny ,Jody and I fished one of our local beaches till 6 am and came up with one more shark for our efforts. It's been exhausting but lots of fun and like Jimmy wrote "we met alot of cool people"that's always a positive benefit of fishing .March 2010 seems to indicate this will be a good year for big Bull sharks compared to last year when they were not very thick. It also seems that the sandbar shark population is bouncing back and doing very well in southwest Florida waters.Again i want to thank Colby Uva for all his hard work putting together this one week shark tournament. We support and will back anyone whom like Colby is interested in doing positive things for land-based shark fishing.Speaking on behalf of myself and my Team mates whether we win or lose is not as important as the opputunity to meet new people and the chance to build a true commaraderie among shark fisherman that fish with so much passion and put forth such awesome efforts in tournaments like these.

Jody and Kenny playing with the bait or getting ready to eat it!!!!!!LOL

Good job shannon.. awesome that you hooked the big one, wish we could have seen it...we also lost a big fish in the surf (hammer) not as big as yours .. cant wait to fish big hammer challenge (im sure youll catch em).. congratulations to all the other teams .. nice to see people that fish hard. good luck to all in the big hammer challenge!
I got a problem well if u know me i got a lot of problems...Thats beside the point not just cause i am a hard hooker but because i am honest that was a hell of a haul for all involved but those fish cape haze are claiming 2 b bulls and duskys are infact sandbars..Sorry but the truth is the truth and thats what they are...If anyone can show me different please do I have nothing against learning something new...
Where is Mike Croke(Team No Bad Luck) and his shark pictures?
Team Hammer Fever ended the tourney with. 12 sharks that count ,,,,i think.JD Hammer had another blacktip but we have no picture of that one so it does not count and I had another blaccktip that the tourist messed up trying to take the picture -and it does not count as well.Jimmy JD's son caught the 8 foot 6 inch bull but he was not in the tournament so it does not count either. As far as the Cape Haze fish I think (from what I am seeing in the pictures)that everyone of them are sandbar sharks.Travis and his Team Cape Haze Rods has put forth an extraordinary collection of catches and they should be comendated for there efforts-I saw first hand on both coast how well this team worked together and made things happen.Congratulations to everyone who fished this tourney.
11 blacktips=1100 points
1 bull=600 points
