This morning there was an article in the Miami Herald that seemed to be encouraging because the red snapper population was making a tremendous come back

While reading the comments, I noticed a post that provided a link saying the federal government was imposing a 6 month ban for snapper fishing in federal waters which is 3.45 miles off shore

I am totally conservation minded, but this seems a bit like overkill, especially when they are talking about making a long term ban that allows fishing over the top of reefs, but not on the bottom!
