Man bitten by shark at New Smyrna Beach
It's the first shark bite of the year in Volusia County.
A 49-year-old man is bitten, in New Smyrna Beach.
According to Beach Patrol, the man was walking back to shore, in about 3-feet deep water, when the shark bit him.
He suffered only small puncture wounds and did not need to be hospitalized.
Although the man did not get a good look at the shark, it is believed to have been about 1 to 2 feet long, based on the extent of the man's injuries.
