Let's Fight Em-Commision meets Boca sharking ban Tue 1/11

Sounds like a lawyer with experience in environmental issues could be of service. Just like what was stated above this is all done out of ignorance while the people who live, work, and pay taxes in the city have their constitutional rights taken away in favor of rich ignorant snowbirds from Wisconsin. The problem is that these tourists believe the beach is theirs..that is their mentality. They also don't understand that the shark fishermen aren't what brings the sharks to the beach, it is the other way around and that needs to be made clear to these ignorants. If anyone is endangering the tourists it is themselves, because when you enter the ocean you enter the foodchain.

A point that should be shown is that for example, there is actual chumming going on at the piers around florida 24/7 with bait, chum bags, live bait, filleting, and other fishing. But more people swim and surf next to piers than anywhere else on the beach. They dont think they're in danger, then how should a few rods out 300+ yards endanger swimmers? And most shark fishing is done at night anyways. We should definately fight for "at worst" night time fishing only, if it comes to that bad of a decision. When is the meeting tomorrow Will?

how much will it cost for this lawyer if we know a price we should be able to hire one if we all pitch in i know i will be the first to defend our rights as a shark fisherman and as an american

I would pitch in to help get a lawyer because there infringing on are rights as fisherman and americans. I fought for the freedoms I enjoy today.

I read on Boatless that this notion got dropped. I don't know if anyone from the SFSC got to speak, but congrats anyways. Hopefully this can set a precedent for the future in other counties.

I'm pretty sure there is no law that a city or any law can tell us we cant fish for a given species (as long as were below the high water line avg) I have a copy of the statutes on me at all times..

Thats a good idea thanks for the statutes. I used to do this when I lived up north for the helmet laws after almost being arressted and having my bike impounded without actually breaking any laws. Question is if the cop is gonna do the right thing, or just not care because they cant be bothered with the actual written statute.

Great job, this will def slow if not put a stop to the domino effect that was starting. Cant say enough how lucky we are to have someone who can intelligently defend us. I tip my hat to you. At a moments notice you dropped what you were doing and made sure that the rights of LBSF were heard. You rallied the troops to push forward and you stood on the front line with the necessary weapons that you gathered.
