dont know about weight but petes jewfish was 7 1/2 foot by the tape it sure looks big enough for me

400 plus easy 
We caught a 7 ft 8 inch while fishing the University of Miami Shark tourney in 1989 right before the Jewfish ban was enacted and it weighed 447 lbs so I'm thinking that Pete's monster would of been 400 lbs plus for sure.

That is a huge Jewfish, The biggest one I ever seen was caught by Shawn Sharkhunta on the south side of seven mile bridge, it burned his 14/0 like a monster bull shark, We regretted not walking it down for pics, but theirs always next time
WE CAUGHT A 7FT 4 INCH THAT WE PUT ON THE SCALE BACK IN THE OLD DAYS AND IT WEIGH 345 AND AN 8FOOT 4 INCH THAT PULLED THE SCALE OFF THE WALL AT 475. iT WAS AT LEAST 500 LBS.
