Okuma reel with 160 pound main line and a 300 pound leader.

11" or so stinger

This fish was 183 cm wide or 6 feet and they said it weighed around 200 kilograms or 440 pounds.

They have a hard time getting hooks over 9/0 here and these little babies were constantly bending and breaking on us

My photobucket stopped working so I will post some more photos soon

My friends 200 pound ray that was 131 cm wide.

Fish Siam is a great charter and was extremely helpful. They have an interesting fishing method I had never thought of. They leave six 30 meter leaders in the water under different floats and tie into the line when a stingray takes it.

I was fishing about a kilometer away from Area 51 and I am currently living in Thailand. This was one of my big reasons for coming here and I had it booked for 6 months.

Today we went again and caught a small 30 kilo one and lost one that fought longer then the 200 kilo one and didn't even move off the bottom the whole time it was on.

It was a charter, $860 for two days fishing and a night at the hotel

Just wondering what your guesses on the weight would be? After looking at the page of Giants there were some larger then mine that were estimated at lower weights of 160 kg. the guides told me they thought it was about 200 kg but no one has ever weighed them accurately.

Just wondering what you think.

Thats awesome! Sweet fish! Wish I would have fished more when I was there! We were pretty busy with Operation Cobra Gold though. I hope to go back some time soon though 8-).
