Hello fellas,
My name is Derek. I am 28 and i live here in Gettysburg Pa. I am very new to shark fishing. My only experiance is fishing in Ocean City Md. My best trip was about 15 dogfish 4 skate and 1 ray in a 4 day trip. Last year on my annual Florida trip i caught 2 3-4ft lemons and a 36in ray out at Captiva.
When im in Florida i stay in Cape Coral and Leehigh Acres. I fish mostly Sanibel/Captiva. From the short time being a member here i have spoken to a lot of great guys with great advise and thank each one greatly for everything. Im open to any suggestions and advise to improve catching in the SW area of Florida. Any local spots you dont mind a sharing would be great.
My setup is a Penn Senator 9/0 on a Mariner rod. Penn Battle 8000 for a casting setup and two other surf setups for baitfish.
Im always open to meeting new people and making fishing buddies so feel free to contact me if you are avaliable to hit the sand. My next trip to Florida is May 26 to June 2. Ill be on the sand all week!!
Welcome aboard dude. Some of the guys have been doing this since we were in diapers and before (I'm 28 too btw). All of these guys are full of knowlege and are not afraid to pass it on. But trial and error and time spent on the sand is really where you learn the most.My favorite shooting spot was in Leehigh Acres btw 
But the Law ran us off. 
Anyway, If Im ever in the area when you're down I'll fish with ya, I'm not that far off.

Thanks Sandray. Ill be hooking up with jamesk while im down. Feel free to contact me if you wanna hit the sand. Like i said i fly in on may 26 and fly back june 2. Plan on stopping at BPS to get my lisence and get a few reels spooled, get to my parents place and unpack, eat then hit the sand. Im getting more and more stoked the closer it gets so if you wanna do some fishing just let me know. Jamesk said he has a few stops we can hit but if hes unavaliable to fish ill probably be fishing Sanibel and Captiva area.

My crew has been wanting to fish that area for a while now. Hopefully I can get out there. My VAC days are 11th-19th but have Fri-Sat's off. If not I wanna hear a sweet report
