Is the fishing decent in South Florida in the winter? I was thinking about maybe driving down in early January to do some fishing. Gonna bring my shark gear but might target some other stuff too.

The fishing can be great this time of year however it can be kinda dependent on weather. Shark wise there should be plenty of blacktips, spinners, and migratory sandbar sharks. Also the mackerel and bluefish bite can be great from the beach and provide you with plenty of fresh bait. And of course the offshore sailfish bite if you can get access to it is world class that time of year.

What piers are in the area that allow shark fishing or are just worth fishing in general?

West coast will have the sandbar shark migration going on and East coast will have the tipper migration
