Will someone with some experience make a list of the fight characteristics of all the sharks that you know of from initial run, bait pickup, wierd things that they do, laziness, and how they fight ranging from light to heavy tackle. i believe this information would be helpful.

My statements apply for beaches only, not bridges:

Nurse= heavy fight with little runs and not much action
Blacktip/spinner= fast short runs and possible jumps, can lock it down and crank him in
Lemon= decent fight, but can manhandle him if you lock it down. better fight than a nurse but worse than a bull
Bull= heavy fish who will not give you an inch throughout the fight, small runs but powerful
Hammer=
UNDER 11FT: Fast runs that can be long or short, very powerful and watch out when he charges the beach because you better gain on him before the hooks come out (HINT: 2 SPEED REEL). Definately another run when he hits the sandbar.
OVER 12FT: THE REASON I SHARK FISH BABY!!!! My biggest is 11ft 5inch, but we've hooked hammers at 12ft or bigger. All I can say is good luck. When you find yourself sitting in the sand, holding on for dear life on locked drag and the line keeps disappearing, YOUVE HOOKED HIM! This shark can pull drag whenever it wants and it is up to the shark to determine how long the fight will last. Teams who land 12ft+ hammers know what theyre doing and are dedicated to the sport. Some are fortunate to have the opportunity to feel the power and speed, but every year MANY ARE HOOKED and FEW ARE LANDED!
