The last two trips I've been on my baits have gotten hit minutes after being dropped by small sharks the bite through my 30 lb breakaway line and just take chunks out of my baits I've been using whole bonito and ladyfish what can I do to avoid them? Getting tired of having to yak the bait out again just to get the rock Broke off by something that can't even swallow the bait

Go to a Running Lead/fishfinder type of rig and try ray for bait instead. This may help.
