I use a claw weight off a pier cast it bout 90 yds or so then slide down bait aka trolly rig but I only use the one pole and fish swims freely from my float to the pier and they get blasted

Ok here's my idea. Why don't we design a small watercraft perhaps 10-12 foot made out of some kind of heavy duty plastic so it's lightweight making transportation via truck/suv (or golfcart) easy. Make it hyrdodynamic and perhaps even create a two-sided paddle to make it less fatiguing to paddle. Also we could make it hollow so as to allow for storage compartments inside and make it more buoyant maybe we could call it a "sit-on-top" idk sounds like the ultimate bait delivery vehicle/method to me

nothing gets by you jk he just saying when you have an easy way to do something and have no distance restrictions to deploy baits why try to trolly rig from the beach which is going to have problems and it will be more difficult. not to mention the very limited distance you will get from this because when you trolly off a pier the bait stops like max 30 yds out and from a beach it will be less.

If yours only goes 30 yards off u gotta practice casting I whip my squidder on a ten foot gator almost a hundred yards constantly and I've had baits slide way out I make people stare when I cast lightly let alone when I try to put some ass into it lol been casting same setup for 11 Years

i can cast the spidder weight like 70 yards and i use and 8 foot rod but im talking about where the bait hits the water when it slides down. and do you use the one rod rig or two when you trolley...and the length of of you rig thats you use after the clip might have a little to do with how far it can slide before the bait hits water

I think the actual trolly rig using two rods is pointless unless your sliding a monster bait with a reel you can cast I use one rod and have caught everything from cuda kings jacks cobia tarpon sharks rays pretty much anything on the end of the peir including reds and snook during the winter usong two rods is pointless unless u puttin out a ten twenty pound bait cuz u can't cast it that's it

Its a rig that's been used in flagler beach for almost 30 years we found that by using the one line and not restricting the bait to only goin in a circle that the hit and catch ration went way up along with not getting tangled with anyone else it alows the bait to swim freely about 60 yards up and down the line using a six foot leader. I've fished on the end with 25 people there using the same rig and our bait would be within 8 ft of eachother and rods in rod holders about 8 inches from eachother everyone there prides themselces in cating and having beautiful rare custom rods fenwicks lamiglass gut busters and gators and nothing else. A lot of fenwick 1208 and 1206 along with black lamiglass which are very rare and cost a couple hundred to 600 a blank without being built
