Near or Far-Where do you like to drop your bait?
Some folks swear by he long drop while others say that it's not necesary to go so far out to drop your bait. From my expierience I say it depends on the beach you're fishing. What do you think?

Biggest sharks ive ever seen fought, all hit the closest bait in. My recent monster that stripped a 12/0 and 14/0, hit the closest bait in, i dropped that bait real close. The beast that Rene had on south beach, the one that stripped the 16-0 to the knot, hit a tiny bonita head dropped before the swim buoy which is very very close.
My theory is that those huge hammers come in close and swim over the white sand along miles of beach in search of sting rays or tarpon in shallower water where they can catch them easier.
Ive also seen 10 foot hammer beach themselve swimming after tarpon. this is my theory.

Yep saw one on video film in Charlotte County where a big hammer chase a 4ft Tarpon right into the breakers!
I cover the inside with the surf rod, the draw with the 9/0, the 2nd sand bar with the 12/0,14/0, and a 16/0 every 100yds after(3,16/0). Depending on the fish that is there. most of my big fish come from the longer baits. The hammers bite any of them but the makos, sandbars, tigers, duskys, usually get the long baits.

GO BIG OR GO HOME
Spreadin different baits at different levels usually works for me.. one in the first drop... one after the sandbar .. one deep.. keepin all grounds covered..
