dehookers

how would you custom make a dehooker for shark? My idea was a T shaped, 5 foot long sectoin of rebar and a swirl at the top of it how do u guys do your dehooking

pull the line parallel to the shark take a pole gaff or even a rope and put around the hook and pull back. comes right out.

I use a piece of PVC pipe and just slide the leader
down the center till I hit the hook and push in it
usually does the trick and it's cheap.

cj do you want to share how you made that dehooker. it looks really easy with a torch and some bolts welded to a table

I cant take credit for that, it was built by Zach Seltz. He used 3/8" steel and a torch to heat and bend it. I use the old 20 dollar bass pro one and have had it bend some but I use smashed barb hooks, so the removal is much easier.

I use this one. 36'

Anything works,if you perfect it........

I have the longer one from Bass Pro and have had pretty good luck with it so far. Circles can be tricky though.

I do the same, works great! My rodholder is always there when I need it. One thing, two uses :D
