I just tie my 130. I kinda dont trust crimps on mono that light. I just always test and tighten my knots pulling "tug of war" style on the railing or my Jeep trailer hitch.

130 is light line. it is easy to tie. just use a uni knot. i use a uni knot all the way up to 400lb the bigger the line the less wraps i do. i normally do 5 or 6 but on 400 i can only get 3 to cinch down right so on 130lb try with 6 and keep working down till you find how many work for you. i have never had a uni fail.

if you are doing say 80 to 130 double up your 80 with a bimini twist or a spider hitch i believe it is called. and then just tie your thicker line fist cinch it the best you can then tie the 80lb make sure both lines are tight and even before tying and then tie the 80lb just like yo would a normal uni knot.

I always use a "nail knot". Kinda tough with heavier line but that's why I use the rail or other solid object to cinch it completely down.

i thought the nail knot was a line to line knot

I've always used a normal fishing knot

http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/t ... -knot.html

Never one time have I had this knot slip, break or come un-done.

I normally do about 5 wraps with 130 lb mono spit on it and tighent it down good.
avet 80w 50+ lbs drag knot never failed.

Thats actually a san diego jam knot, if you dont come back through on the top loop then its a normal fishermans. I tie the same knot all the way up to 300

Nah a san diego jam knot you wrap the tag end down towards the hook eye, then run it underneath so the tag end is like a cushion between the hook eye and the wraps, then run through the top loop before cinching down..I've used it a while it works real well.
