This HUGE Hammerhead is the biggest caught anywhere .At five meters is over 16 feet and 1200 Kilograms is over 2400 lbs it is massive. Will we ever see another one like it ever caught on rod and reel?Even at world famous Boca Grande I don't think they have ever landed anything quite this large .I can't even imagine the strength of a hammerhead
that big.The angler thast hooks something like that has to have a 32/0 LOL and 10 hours of stamina to attempt it or he may get lucky and hook it when it's old and tired.I don't think there are many that size left close to populated areas or anywhere in the world for that matter. What do you think.

Nothing is impossible..I believe it can happen. With more shark conservation awareness going on hopefully this will enable sharks to live longer and grow bigger..who knows what the future holds it could be someone from this site that lands it.

With the ocean as big as it is, and even today we are still discovering new species of fish, the possibilities are endless, but nature has a tendency to make species proportional to what they are feeding on, so if the population of the bait decreases so does your sharks size, if it increases, so does ur shark... there is alot of tarpon around lol

Just an average fisherman.

If ya fighting with a 9/0 or a 6/0 with braid on you cannot catch that fish. If ya have 1000yds of braid under 700 yds of mono or dacron on a 16/0 with the drag very tight, maybe. Or a couple big reels to tie into would catch it too. Most places have too many bouies to do that. Catchable? Yes, with a big handfull of luck. A little luck is better than alot of skill.

Yes, I think it could be done! I know I'm an old fart now but I still think it could be done.

Impossible to catch from shore. Anyone who has been burned by a big hammer will have to agree. This fish would be a submarine/unstoppable force!

and even more with the new regs. now they need to protect the pinfish and mullet to grow super sized tarpon to feed the super sized hammers.
