FULL MOON HAMMER-BEST TIME TO CATCH THE GIANT T HEADS

Full Moon Hammer is not just a hunch it is has been proven over the years and the observant hard-core shark fisherman will see the signs and be able to take advantage of the knowledge we are passing along here to help you target the Giant Hammers,All year long even in the colder winter months the big hammerhead sharks feed better during the full moon and should be targeted specifically.Time and time again over the years our records indicate that for some reason the big hammers hunt more aggresively during the FULL MOON.One theory is that the full moon helps the hammers better see the the rays they hunt that are buried just beneath the sand,,the light of the moon shining down increases the visibility or makes the wings have a certain tint/shine .Whatever the reason go out and fish fresh baits during the FULL MOON.Good luck and hold on for dear life when you hook one.

I havent realy noticed on the hammers i have caught whether the moon makes a diffrence or not. Roddie Pate caught his big female 14'2" greater hammer (Navare Beach pier) on a full moon. So I would guess they can spot the rays laying in the shallows better with a good moon. They are a little out of season on the panhandle. I have only saw one in mid november one time on the pier, it was almost black it was so dark and probaly 12' or so. Roddie hooked up on it and fought it 30 min or so and got it 60 yds from the pier, it came to the top, opened its mouth and let the bonita hook and all go and left. it never had the hook it was just holding on to the bait. This year has been strange so ya never know.

TEAM REBEL'S MONSTER 2010 NOVEMBER FULL MOON HAMMER

"the beast made its first showing to the public, no more than 30yards from the beach, a fin began to slowly rise out of the clear illuminated ocean. As the sickle rose, it cut the water in the light of the full moon in a way that will haunt me till the day I die. It fin was cutting the water, making it look like molten glass cast up over the still submerged sharks body. I screamed to Tyler, who was a good distance behind me, "HAMMER!, AND ITS BIGGER THAN THE LAST ONE!!". Zach Miller -2010 Teamrebelfishing.com

Zach Miller Team Rebel full moon up beckons the beast out beyond the surf

Tyler before the hammer -the full moon glistens down on the sea behind him

the full moon once again has created the right set of circumstances to allow these very hard-core shark fisherman(Zach and Tyler-Team Rebel) to target the giant fish as evidenced by yet another HUGE HAMMERHEAD CAUGHT 11/2010

3 of the 4 times I have been spooled down to the loops this year were right around the full moon and about 2 hours after dark. The speed at which these fish took off was astonishing..must have been those full moon hammers y'all speak of. Good to know this applies to the cooler months as well because I will soon have the gear to wrangle such beasts.

Just reading this again ,
This is exactly the kind of info that would go into the "SHARK LOG" iwas talking about in the "HOW CAN WE IMPROVE ?" thread; if there was ONE continuous thread with all that info , we could go right to it , scroll/read down & have all the tides, fronts, moons, patterns of the Sharks ,& with it all in that "SHARK LOG" you'd be able to sit & pattern sharks, or how good a certain spot really is or spot any trends, or any anomalies ,

This is a great thread & I'd be willing to bet that there's alot more to it than "light" ,& the hammers spotting rays better.
That FULLMOON affects every living thing whether they realize it or not,
Ask any ER DOC or Nurse, or any cop,
I know from experience the Full Moon affects game animals,
