They are HOT and HEAVY here in Palm Beach County to ban shark fishing from the beaches. It's been on the news for the last few days. Seems the itch is coming from guys chumming the shoreline, which, according the the news, draws in the sharks and endangers the bathers. They have hearings going on, so an organized presence is a good idea. I heard that there were only a handful of objectors during a meeting last week, about 2 sharkers, who claimed that the sharks come in close, anyway, during the migration, so it makes little difference. Their logic was noted. The conceal appears to be listening but with only a few supporting our sport at the hearing, it may not go very far. This forum is SO silent, it kinda makes me ill. Guys need to wake up and get with the program. I'll be going to the next meeting to speak out. Public hearings are easy to attend. Maybe more can attend. The more, the merrier.

Thanks for the link. I hear lot of news about shark fishing but do not see much of any response to what they are
actually focusing on, like chumming. These city meetings are very specific and counsel members rationalize based on these specifics. I do not see them trying to ban shark fishing as a whole in Palm Beach County. They appear to be going after the "tactics" used to get the sharks. So if we refrain from some of these tactics, like chumming, then perhaps we can get the spotlight off of us. We, after all, are the shark fishermen, right?
