Has anyone seen "WICKED TUNA" on TV yet?
That show is the bad side of fishing if you ask me,
Poor sportsmanship shown in EVERY episode,
I realize they are fishing for MONEY,[that right there is no good]
But they lose thier minds ,practically if anybody even anchors within 500yards of them , & carry on like the other guy committed a mortal sin.
They call the weekend warriors "GOOGANS" [kinda like 'GINOS' LOL }
They get big money for those Bluefins they catch ,
But there is one boat in particular , the "capt." just goes insane over the least little thing & screams at total strangers like a maniac, if he was fishing in Florida ,he wouldn't last long
I completely agree, but sadly since there aren't many other rod and reel shows that are recurring and that I am able to watch it is one I do watch.
But I am completely against what they do also
I love watching the show. Reminds me a lot of my area, minus the terrible accents and arrogant attitudes. The 2 older capt's are pieces of &%$#, but Marciano and Dave are great. Dave is the only one who really knows the secrets in catching them on a regular basis.
Only thing that seems fishy to me is how the younger guy on the Pin Wheel caught a tuna behind a commercial boat, then he went out next time and landed another trolling. Why in the world wouldn't you go right back to that commercial boat the next morning or go trolling? Scripted?

I don't know, One thing I don't watch it alot so I'm not very familiar with names, none of them interested me enough to want to know thier names
I wouldn't want to fish with any of them , so I haven't paid attention to thier names, ....I think I know who you mean, he's got curly dark hair, looks like the youngest "capt."???
It is kinda strange, none of them seem to rely on any good strategy,
Yeah Bat ,I watch it when I do once in awhile for basically the same reason,
I'll say this, some of them have some nice rigs,

with some of the people we have here. I think we could do a show that would be a lot better.
Not only would we show people the proper way to catch fish but more important how to treat others. The shows I watch here are " Reel Time" and "Fishing the flats" both are good saltwater fishing shows.

There was a show on ,I think it was the Animal Planet Channel ,not long ago; "OFF THE HOOK" it had wrestler Eric Young, who went all over fishing, he did a couple shows from Florida & actually one from my old turf, MATLACHA, he was fishing off a stand up paddleboard he bought in FT. Myers, &then he was in MIAMI too I think trying to catch Snakeheads!! That show cracked me up ,
I like the Nat Geo show Hooked:Monster Fish, River Monsters (who doesnt) and Fish Warrior
