Website Really Coming Along Well!
I wanted to take a moment and commend William Fundora on the great job he is doing on the site.
During the last 45 days this site has received some great fishing reports and huge amount of historical content. I see momentum developing and a site with a future developing. As I watch this site grow, I remember the days when I worked on developing my site.
William is one of the few guys on the planet with a shark fishing website that carries the sword, and knows how to use it. This is not a wantabe shark fishing site, this is the real deal. He is really passionate about this site and the sport. When a man is filled with a white hot desire to succeed and win, he is unstoppable. William puts that spirit into this website. And you can start to see the results.
The reports and historical content fill me with excitement. I like the old pictures and the incredible stories. I know lots of people thought highly of Frank Mundus, but the exploits of the land based sharkers that William writes about stand on their own as true feats of accomplishment which only very special men achieve.
I also like the fact that there is no fighting or hating here, just come on down and feel welcome. William busts his tail and spends hour after hour working on making this a reality. A lot of the potential of the internet for this sport has been lost because of the haters and fakers. This site has both fellowship and production, and is going to be successful. This is a place where people feel welcome and comfortable.
Well if you have not figured it out by now I am enjoying this and looking forwards to the continued development of this site and the prosperity of the South Florida Shark Club. I believe this will become one of the top three shark fishing sites in the World.
Deaver
Thanks Deaver your words are uplifting and they motivate me to continue to work hard for the sport of land -based shark fishing and the fisherman involved in it.I work on this site daily and i pour my heart and soul into it.This is who i am, and this is what i enjoy doing;sharing with all some of the greatest land-based shark fishing stories in the world that have never been brought to light, events that defined the lives of the unsung heroes of this sport and still captivate those reading there accounts for the first time. Thanks for your support and very sincere words.
William, is it true that many of the guys that fished back in the day accumulated considerable knowledge. And if someone is not bringing this knowledge into the 21st century, a lot of the accumulted experience of the sport will be lost. Especially if someone wants to target monster sharks. I am excited to see that this site is bringing this historical aspect to life.
Unfortunately many of the great fishermen will not post on our modern sites due to the bashing and the fighting over topics like catch and release. The sites tend to be unmoderated and people treat them like a public restroom wall, with little respect for the people the built the site and the other site members. Many people never realize William may have 300-500 hours into this project before going fishing.
An old time sharker is going to feel welcome here, and hopefully they will come and participate in the discussions. I think one of the legacies this site will have is being that site which bridges the gap between the current and the past. This is very exciting and a lot of people enjoy this.
This site has more historical shark fishing pictures than all the other shark fishing sites in the world combined. It takes a lot of work to put something like this together. I know you have already spent considerble money getting this site up and a lot of sweat equity putting this together. For a long time we use to call Doug Mizzi's Land Based Shark Fishing website "Shark Fishing For Men". This site has the same intensity.
There are some other really fine shark fishing websites out there, but this site has some very distinct attributes that make it unique and provide competitive advantage. This is a nice addition to the community, and continued growth and prosperity will be good for us all. We need some heavy shark fishing sites without the figthing, and with the learning. This site meets that specification exactly.
Deaver
I would like to say as well Great job will!!!.I for one know how much time will spends on this site.I stop by his office early in the am and there he is cracking away on this site, telling me about what he has going in next and stays at it till the night.
Will has been the most powerful mentor i could say i have ever had,and keeps me going back out to the sea for more with his stories of the monsters that share the ocean with us.On those days where i am fed up of the burning sun and loose lines,he keeps me going and waiting for that big hit.I have fished all my life, but i have never been so inspired to go out day in and day out and put in time as will calls it,to hunt for the monsters of the sea.So will thanks for all you have done for the site and myself as well, you have been a true friend and teacher in times when those are hard to come by.A BIG THANKS ALSO for helping me out with some gear on loan, when mine was stolen.
Will you are the man and you put alot of time and effort in to this, i truly apreciate that from you and your wife magaly,(shes great) i want to help in any way that i can and im open and in a comfort zone to throw you 1 or 200 bucks to help with any lose end costs towards keeping our club up to date as well as this site. please tell me whatever i can do im here,if im not changing diapers or fishing!!!

Thanks seaweed (Shannon)for your support and your offer is accepted and greatly appreciated from the bottom of my heart.I and my wife Magalys work tirelessly on behalf of the shark club, the website and our genuine messege of unity among shark fisherman is our ultimate goal(regardless of whether you are a club member or not).I think the best thing we can all do aside from spreading our passion for this sport with everyone ,and sharing with the world our shark fishing adventures on the internet is to promote recognition and respect for land-based shark fishing and to unify the anglers involved in it.I thank you all for your support and continued encouragement.2009 promises to be a great year for our sport and i hope you will all be involved in one way or another in helping that promise become a REALITY.

Hey guys just wanted to let you know that we are on the way to becoming one of the top shark fishing websites anywhere. Thanks to the involvement of some very dedicated fisherman on here and the shark fishing history we have in Florida we will continue to upgrade and improve the content of this website over the coming months. We are constantly doing research to provide you with unique material and great catches by Florida land based shark fisherman to showcase historic material not available anywhere else. For instance we just recently got Captain Ed Dwyer's picture with his 1981 Melbourne Beach Florida 900 pound tiger from his wife Candy,,,,,,check it out on Florida's Biggest Sharks section.Check out our Youtube section with the video of our 8 ft 8 inch bull shark on the 16/0 caught September of 2008, good stuff indeed so don't miss that.We are always in search of great shark fishing related videos and we urge you not to miss them. The picture of Mike Mc Cuiston's 1975 Melbourne beach 1147 lb tiger is also on Florida's Biggest section ,,very big shark. We only have maybe 15 % of our material inserted ,it's just that with running a family and a business it's not easy to dedicate time every day to the website but we try hard to .So from time to time check out that section you thought was finished because you'll be pleasantly suprised to find brand new pictures and details you did not know existed .The Rene section is only about 30 % complete and it's our pleasure to show you stuff never before seen outside the shark club inner circle.Other new and upcoming sections will be sure to blow you away .For instance we recently started a HOW To section that when complete we can guarantee you will be the most complete land-based shark fishing instructional anywhere on the internet. Our unique perspective covers so many different aspects of shark fishing that it will be unparalled and all available in one website.

Being very new to the site (and soon the group), this site was the reason that I decided to join the club. After reading the post (posted by 'real' people) and seeing the historical pictures, I knew that this was the real deal. Shark fishermen are a rare breed and it is reason to celebrate a medium that can help bring those folks together (in friendship AND competition).
Nice work!

LATELY IT HAS BEEN APPARENT AND HAS BEEN ALSO BROUGHT TO OUR ATTENTION THE TRASH TALKING AND BASHING THAT HAS BEEN AIMED AT OUR SITE BY CHRISTOPHER DEAVER FROM TEXASSHARKFISHING .I WANT EVERYONE THAT READS THIS TO KNOW THAT WE ARE DEDICATED TO THE SPORT OF LAND-BASED SHARK FISHING AND SHARK FISHING IN GENERAL AND THAT WE WELCOME EVERYONE AND DON'T DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM PARTICIPATING IN OTHER SHARK FISHING WEBSITES,,,,,,,BUT NOT EVERYONE HAS THE SAME GOOD INTENTIONS .MR DEAVER THROWS A FIT WHEN USERS ON HIS SITE COME AND POST A COMMENT OR A CONGRATULATIONS ON THIS BOARD.ON MANY OCCASIONS HE HAS BANNED OR DELETED ACCOUNTS OF GOOD FISHERMEN ,SOLID CONTRIBUTORS ON HIS SITE SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY EXERCISED THERE RIGHT AS FREE MEN AND POSTED ON OUR SITE.THAT KIND OF BEHAVIOUR IS DEPLORABLE ,SHAMEFUL AND CHILDISH TO AN EXTREME.CHRISTOPHER DEAVER SHOULD BE INTELLIGENT ENOUGH TO REALIZE HE IS LOSING HIS USER BASE BECAUSE OF HIS CHILDISH TANTRUMS AND DICTATORIAL BEHAVIOUR .IT'S A SHAME BECAUSE HIS SITE IS PRETTY ,SET UP NICELY AND HAS SOME VALUBLE CONTENT BUT THE BEHAVIOUR DISPLAYED BY IT'S ADMINISTRATOR CHRISTOPHER DEAVER LEAVES MUCH TO BE DESIRED.DEAVER GOES OUT OF HIS WAY TO TRY AND DISCREDIT THE SOUTH FLORIDA SHARK CLUB,IT'S MEMBERS AND OUR WEBSITE BUT HE SHOULD REALLY COME TO HIS SENSES AND UNDERSTAND THE FACT THAT WE HAVE BEEN IN THIS SPORT LONGER THEN MOST AND OUR HISTORY CANNOT BE WISHED AWAY .OUR EXPIERIENCE AND REVERENCE FOR THE OLD SCHOOL SHARK FISHERMEN IS PART OF OUR GOAL OF UPHOLDING THE SPORT,IT'S ANGLERS AND THE SPORT'S HISTORY.WE HAVE ONLY INSERTED ONLY 30 TO 40% OF OUR HISTORY ON THIS SITE BECAUSE OF TIME CONSTRAINTS ,THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO SHARE WITH OUR VIEWERS AND OVER TIME WE WILL CONTINUE TO SHARE IT.
DEAVER'S LOSS OF GOOD FISHERMEN WORKS TO OUR BENEFIT BECAUSE WE WE GAIN THEM ON THIS SITE "THE MOST ACIVE SHARK FISHING SITE IN THE WORLD".WE DON'T JUST TALK SHARK FISHING, WE ARE OUT THERE INVOLVED IN SHARK FISHING AND SHARING OUR ADVENTURES FOR ALL TO SEE.WE DEMONSTRATE OUR LOVE FOR THIS SPORT AND IT'S FISHERMEN BY RESPECTING EACH PERSON'S FREEDOM. WE DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH OUR USERS POSTING ON OTHER BOARDS AND WE ARE PROOF THAT WE ARE NOT ABOUT OUR PERSONAL EGO BUT ABOUT PROMOTING THE SPORT OF LAND-BASED SHARK FISHING AND ABOUT UPHOLDING THE RIGHTS OF THE FISHERMEN INVOLVED IN IT.
CHRISTOPHER DEAVER CHOOSES TO BAD MOUTH COMPETITION BETWEEN SHARK FISHERMEN AND THAT'S A BUNCH OF CRAP BECAUSE IT IS IN OUR NATURE TO COMPETE AND CHRISTOPHER DEAVER THREATENS TO DELETE USERS ACCOUNTS IF THEY MAKE REFERENCE TO ONE OF A HANDFUL OF SHARK TOURNAMENTS HELD ON THIS SITE ,,,WHAT A COMPLETE IDIOT DOES'NT HE UNDERSTAND THAT SHARK FISHERMEN LOVE SHARK TOURNAMENTS.I TRULY DO FEEL SORRY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE CHOSEN TO FOLLOW THIS MANIAC DOWN A WINDING ROAD THAT LEADS TO A PRECIPICE .MY ONLY HOPE IS THAT HE WILL GET THE HELP HE NEEDS BEFORE HE COMPLETELY LOSES ALL HIS FOLLOWERS.GOOD LUCK DEAVER YOU'LL NEED IT .

Well written my friend. Will I know you know how I feel about that individual
so I won't lament on his behavior or the CULT like fashion he runs that
web site. There are no doubt some outstanding shark fishermen in Texas
but I believe most of them are independent of that group. Anyway Deaver
if ya bring your crew over here to Florida again make sure ya got your paperwork
in order cause I know for fact if that yellow Tx flag is flyin Mr FWC will be stoppin
by to check you credintials............. I have never been on a more excepting site
dedicated to LBSF than this one. Alot of guys started out with good intentions but when given a little limelight turned into egomaniacs whose only concern is self promotion. That even applies here in this state and those guys know who they are also .....
It's a sad day when this sport gets reduced to name calling and admonishments due to association via computer. Even sadder still when a site like that one has so much potential to reach new anglers hungry to learn. We are defined by a healthy competitive nature we all share that is inherent to shark fishing. I'm always competing with myself when it comes to this, and I'm over 50. So where's the rub??? Each domain has pros and cons to be learned from. I use sites as a way of larger communication and information gathering to enhance my abilities on the sand. If I am truly fortunate, I meet good people as a result. That only comes with an open minded approach to real fishing and a love for what we do regardless of station in life. Only real time experience on a beach can weed out the chaff from the stalk my friends. You are only as good as your brother standing next to you in this business, and once you forget that you are lost. Ok, off the soapbox....
When one serves as a detriment to his sport he works against it, and ultimately should be admonished.b]
PROTECT WHAT YOU LOVE AND NURTURE IT SO THE SEEDS YOU PLANT WILL GROW
