was thinking of fishing volusia but heard there was a ban is

like title says was thinking about fishing daytona area beaches this weekend as they are known for there sharks , and i have heard a rumor that it is illegal to shark fish from the beach there. is this true? , is it enforced? does anyone have any recomendations for this area, i know it holds large sharks but i dont want to go to jail or get a fine for fishing , any insight is much appreciated

I'm not sure about the beach, but I know one of my friends went to the pier up there and everyone was shark fishing off that.

yes shark fishing in volusia county has been banned since the late 70's early 80's,but i did read where they had backed off some.i think in ormond beach after 3 or 4 pm,and iv'e seen alot of reports off sunglo.i belive it will only be enforced now if bathers are present.good luck.
