a few fish, such as red fish and black drum, have slot limits and minimum size or max size limits... well what if your reeling in an over sized red and it gets bit in half by a shark? Florida law says any protected species that die on the line must be returned to the water but also says that you cannot discard fish scraps into the water (or atleast that's what the signs around here say).
so an over sized, torn up, bit in half red fish... ?
