Trip to Sanibel!! any advice?
Hey guys,
I just found out that my buddy and I are going on a trip to Sanibel. Its a long trip for us (10 hours flying) so we would like to make the most of it. I have heard a couple guys are still catching sharks around blind pass. Can anyone confirm that? If so any tips there? and either way any other general fishing advice for the island? thanks in advance!
Now I am only there once a year but I can give you my experience. I tried blind pass and never got a hit, all the times I was there I have never seen a shark come from there as well.
There are two beaches that I have had the most luck from.
Bowman's beach: but the only problem here is the crowds. If your fishing at night then there will be no problem. I have seen more sharks from the shore on that beach then any other. And remember I am only there in October so the time of year might be a difference as well.
Lighthouse park beach: (side facing the gulf, not san carlos bay) The most action ive had on any of the beaches 7 to 8 runs a night. Way to busy to fish during the day so I can not tell you anything about the day fishing. You are going to be fighting crowds right now also, so fishing at night may be your only option.
Hope this helps a little.
