For the last 2 weeks and we've hit a tiger (or 2) on almost every 4hr trip. It started unusually early this season and its ON. Hope you guys are kickin some butt down there!

would you maybe say that the shark in the picture nibbled the bait before chewing?

No granders yet, not even close. I think 550 is the largest one I've hit so far. Things are looking good, though. I've never seen them here this early and in healthy numbers. The strange thing...these tigers are a completely different stock than last years. I havent seen a tagged shark yet.

That is awesome information. How many years have you been tagging them? and if more than 2 years do you typically catch tagged sharks from one season to another?

I've been tagging them on a regular basis for about 3 years. But even before that I noticed some of them had my hooks and wire hanging out of the mouth.

Yeah, I've caught the same tigers more times than I can count. Especially Lemons. I dont always catch the same Tigers that I caught in the previous season, but I do catch a good number of them from year to year. 3 years ago the largest Tiger I had caught that season was over a grand, 2 weeks later we caught her again. Some return to the same area, some dont. I just find it weird that I havent seen a tagged shark yet. Even prior to tagging I would recognize a tiger here and there that either had my hook hanging out or had a scar I recognized. Its good to see an entirely new stock in the area.
