Went to the chiropractor with my mom and we stopped in the thrift store in the plaza and I spotted a quantum catalyst 30 or 40 (can't really tell since the sticker is faded) spinner on a quantum tournament grade im8 casting rod. They had it marked for 12.99 offered them 10 since that's all I had the lady accepted the offer and I walked out with what I felt was a good deal. Reel needs to be oiled and new line and the rod needs a guide. So I guess when ur out looking for a rod and reel check pawn shops and thrift stores. But know what your looking at and a ball park of what it is worth

great find. I find a lot of quality and vintage rods and reels in pawn shops. They usually do not know what they are worth and you can get them at a fraction of the price.

Told ya bro, all my skin mounts came from thrift stores 8-) most I have ever paid was $25 bucks for my Salmon skin mount :D. Keep an eye out, there is plenty of cool stuff there.

I have an old pfuleger 3/4 that I picked up at a pawn shop for $20 with a penn slammer rod. Turns out that is was made between 1932-1939 and it still works perfect.
