Thinking about building a rod

As the title states, I'm looking to build a rod for my 16/0. I have the blank picked out, but I'm kinda up in the air on everything else. I would like to stay away from all rollers, but does anyone know of any boat guides with a high enough profile for such a large reel?

Thanks for the help guys.

you can also talk to joe on here. he has built all my rods and they are very good quality he will be able to help you out and tell u good guides that are cheap. travis may tell you to use top of the line guides that will cost u around 200 dollars a set.

On page 93 on my new mudhole catalog. 2 diffrent ones Carbide boatrod guides or wire frame boatrod guide. I have had bad luck with fuji guides. The insert will break out and the line i use will cut a rut in them. The carbide guides are the toughest. If the insert comes out the frame the frame will cut or frey the line. Already replaced the tip on the BHC 80w, and seeing some ruts starting in some of the others. The wrap is only as good as the guides. The first shark rod i put fuji guides on I wraped it flawlessly and one year later i had to cut it all off on count of fuji guides. Rollers are best but boatguides let splices go better.
