I just posted up on there.

I think you weren't portrayed well, being the experienced sharker you are

I read every bit of that blog Shiffman, or Shifman wrote, and ALL of the comments. For being alleged scientists they're hardheaded and arrogant and seem to refuse common sense. Seems they just want to argue, not learn or inform.

i commented with a quick post because the fact that you did everything right and they are still tryin to bash you is crap. Ive seen thousands of pictures with tarpon that dont have a tag out of water and pictured measured and all that but no complaints. You did the best thing for the sharks health and risked your own health by reviving him. Dont let these guys who dont know what they are talkin bout get you down. Your a great fisherman and I'm proud to be in a SFSC with you

Ever hear that quote "The flag at the top always gets the strongest winds"?

Its normal, when you do something significant you're always going to take heat. I was pretty proud when I broke my first state record here, then I read the comments underneath the story and you would have thought I was the uni-bomber. Took some getting used to. Enjoy the publicity, its a great catch and you know you didn't do a thing wrong. You da man!

The local Outcast kill tournament needs to be recognized on that forum along with the rest of the kill tournaments. Show them some legal, dead protected species so they will have a legitimate reason to hate. The Outcast tournament is planed to press on dead tigers and all. They killed atleast 15 tigers last year. A little more salt for the wound, I saw both tiger shark and hammer head shark at the fish house for sale last week. So what is this protected species stuff protecting? The commercial fisherman and the haters. For warned hater, you ant protected around me!!!!

If you read they last comment on the article, you can tell how smart some these guys are, based on the lower street level talk that we don't even go near at on any of our posts, although they endorse that on they website. The sadly part is, is written by the guy who, apparently owns the site.
Definitely they read the wrong set of books. :D

I know what you mean outcast and epolk, thanks everyone else for the help as well. I find it funny how I didn't directly kill the shark but I imagine if I had, I wouldn't have this much of an uproar. I remember when sharks washed ashore dead in some places, those stories didn't get 10,000 views and 200 comments in less than a month. I am "taking a high gust upon my crest" and only a solid few can withstand such blows without blowing up like other various fishermen and scientists alike would and have been proven to do...

By the way... the way the blog works is that posts made that are given so many more thumbs up will be highlighted and ones that are given so many more thumbs down will be hidden from view, so please vote on your behalf whether it be for or against me.

Mark idk if u caught what I posted on there but the dude made it so I can't post and deleted my post saying that he should be focused on long liners and the kill tournaments and that u did nothing wrong and that cutting the line would of endangered the shark more than bringing him in and reviving him and that I pointed out to the dude manny that the multiple hook law refers to using trebel hooks and not j hooks and that I personally have talked to a older fwc officer who is a friend and he said that you did absolutely nothing wrong and when I showed him the post of the dude tryin to bash u and what you did he was laughing and couldn't believe it lol people need something better to do than worry bout us cuz we do nothing wrong its a sport and we do it right and promote shark conservation to the fullest

I talked to some of the biggest fishermen and scientists (regarding fish) last Thursday at a certain awards event. The lead scientist and (part inventor) of the marlin satellite tagging devices and program told me that my actions were proper measures and the alternative would have led to a higher death percentage. Chris Fischer (the guy who researches massive GWS) also agreed with my actions as did many of the other outstanding world forces I met at this event. I have done my research and got opinions from the best of the best. I stand with what I did and have no intentions of boasting so I choose not to mention most names of who I affiliate with and choose not to mention these details on the blog because I consider that they may be seen as arrogant.

Those scientists are idiots...usually the ones who have cheesy pop science blogs are.

Trust me, I work in a scientific setting for a living and my minor is in marine sciences from the Duke University Marine Lab...
