Friday night Mullethead and I was out at big carlos pass. We had runs all night. One real good on my davis rod that bent the pole in half. But the line kept breaking. I had bought line on ebay trying to save a little money. Bad move, When I got home I tested some of the line I still had on the spool. Every time I jerked it hard it broke. Now this DYNEEMA BRAID FISHING LINE 80LB 300M 0.48MM GREEN #SG I should not be able to break it so easy. Did same test on my 80lb spiderwire that I have and it took alot to break it. So yesterday went and got power pro line. Which put me more in the dog house with the wife  . I know must of you guys know not to go cheap on line. This post is for the guys like me that are still learning. That big bite hurt when the line broke, I have been working for 4 years ( 3 weeks every year) now to get a good sized shark and I think missed my chance for the year. I have 2 more times before I go back. and I don't want it to happen to someone.

Ebay wasn't the problem, it was the brand or seller you bought from. If you buy from reputable dealers and stick with name brands, ebay is a great source for buying line.

yea, only buy the brand that you are using cause there are dicks out there who don't care and will take your dough saying "CHEAP"on gay ass brands......

Ok I'm not knocking ebay, I got my rod and reel there and at a good price. You two said it better, sometimes I can't get out what I want to say. I am saying stay away from cheap stuff. I learned my lesson there. Go with what you know is good.

this stuff was like kite string guys. I mean a fucking pin fish could have broke it. Time to put my 100lb mono back on the reel. We lost at least three big hits that night and a few hits another night very frustrating.

but we have come up with an different way to fish at big carlos pass which is working great for us. we fish the beach there not using yaks, we set the pole up on the beach and walk the baits up the bridge and toss them off current takes them right into the channel we like to fish. Beach fishing on a budget.

That is my genius plan for fishing some of my local spots where bridge fishing is not allowed. (miami)

i put my 100lb mono back on but didn have any runs after that. Oh well we will do better next time. Although my partner in crime is now on another continent. Kind of hard to meet up and fish. I dont know any one else that is in cape coral the likes to do this.
