IS THERE A WAY TO SMOOTH OUT THE SPIRAL FINISH OF SAY A SHARK UNLIMITED BLANK SO IT'S SMOOTH?
COULD I JUST SAND IT OUT?

No!! Dont sand it out!! Once you remove that material you cant put it back on.What I did on my sons gator unlimited was apply a light coat of epoxy to level it out before the build.If you are going to change color of the blank,spray it before you apply the coat of epoxy...just make sure your epoxy is compatible with the paint
