Shark Workshop
Just a FYI for thoes interested. I will be attending the one in Punta Gorda to see what they have to say
http://myfwc.com/NEWSROOM/09/statewide/ ... Wshops.htm

I predict it's just a matter of time and the sharks will be regulated just like the Jewfish were in 1989 or 1990.A complete no take law will be enacted in the coming years. As long as we can continue to catch and release everything will be OK.The shark populations will benefit from such a change in the laws but would other countries follow with laws to also protect the sharks off there shores,,,,,I doubt it.
The longliners and the third world countries that devestate the shark populations the most will continue there Ungodly slaughter and the decline will go on unless we bring attention to the problem on a worldwide scale. The next "WHALE WARS" will be "THE SHARK WARS"
We live in a changing world and each and everyone of us must learn to adapt to change if our sport is to survive and thrive0.
We welcome legislation but think that pressure on the guilty longlining countries should be increased as the #1 measure that would secure the future of worldwide shark stocks.
