hey guys i would like to start tagging my sharks does any one know where i can get a good tagging kit for free or cheap?
Search google for NMFS Apex predator program.
On their page there is a link for a kit. Includes 5 tags with a needle. Along with literature on species and shark measurements.
I have the standard tagging device and it works. I bent a needle on a nurse shark and I always struggle with it regardless of the shark. Is there a better method or tag stick? Post some photos.

Use the tip of a knife to make a small incision in the shark, then tag the shark at the incision. Makes the tag go through with significantly less effort and is actually recommended by NOAA for larger sharks.
