Hey everyone, we are heading from Michigan to Fort Lauderdale area to try to catch some sharks again. Will be fishing from Feb 20 - 28. Anyone know where / when the shark migration will be??? Are there pretty much always sharks to catch in Fort Lauderdale? Any tips for me fishing that area?

Thank you!

The weather has been strange this winter and we have not seen many blacktips down south.
The guys that fish Ft. Lauderdale typically get some lemons, maybe a hammer now and then.

Where are you staying in Laudy?

Staying in Pompano Beach - just north of Ft. Lauderdale, right on the Hillsboro Inlet. How far out do you go for lemons or hammers? Same bait for those?

I've fished Ft Lauderdale beaches a couple of times with friends and family. We caught a couple real nice fish including a 8.5' lemon and a 9' hammer along with sandbars and tippers. All of the bigger sharks were caught on the short drops (100 yards or less) and just south of Anglins pier. I found if you kayak out too far you just get snagged up too easily on the reef. Caught the hammer on bonito and the rest of the catches were on fresh blue fish.

Awesome, thank you!

They just put up new buoys at pompano beach. There are lemons and a couple bulls by the inlet. If you fish by there make the drops 100 yards or just passed the buoys. I fish pompano all the time since it is 15 mins from me. it has been nothin but sharpnose sharks lately. Some tippers were around in December. Got a bonnet head the other night.

If you fish Ft. Lauderdale, short drops with bloody baits. Big reef that stretches for miles
