Saturn kaboat

I've found an inflatable boat that is a cross of a kayak and zodiac style inflatable. I was wondering if any guys have seen these in the surf environment. It looks to be stable even in the 12' size, which is rated for a 2.5 HP outboard. Is this enough power for the usual surf conditions of the gulf? It would be used just for running bait, Im not planning on trolling or going out any farther than your usual 9/0 or 10/0 class bait run. Can't figure out how to post pic so http://www.saturnboats.com/saturn-kaboa ... aboat.html. tell me what y'all think

For what it's worth, here's my 2 cents:

I drop baits with a Zodiac and would definitely recommend that route. I also looked at the kaboats and decided that an inflatable boat was a better all-around option. They are sturdier, safer in the surf, can handle more people and equipment, can take a bigger outboard (planing hull is awesome), costs about the same and will be easier to sell down the line. This boat is similarly priced as the Saturn boat you posted a link to:

If you found a really good deal on a kaboat, might as well grab it. It will work in the Gulf conditions for getting baits into the deep. But I would suggest that your needs will likely expand some day. The kids will want you to take them out in it, the neighbor will want to do some offshore fishing or shrimping in it (those oil rigs hold a TON of fish), you might want to pack it up for a shoreline camping trip, etc. Good luck!
