Saturday December 27,2008 our Annual Shark Club Awards Party

This coming Saturday December 27,2008 we will have our annual end of the year shark club awards party.We are inviting you if you want to join our organization or if you are into the shark fishing scene but are unsure about joining the club you're still invited to come on out and spend the evening with us.Anyone who is interested in attending can contact Will 786-797-5712 and then come on out and join us.There will be a bar b q for grilling and all kinds of food and cold drinks available guaranteed to please the hungriest land sharks in south Florida.LOL We will hand out the SOUTH FLORIDA SHARK CLUB awards to this years winners in all the different shark and fish categories.We will have a big TV to watch all the great shark fishing videos of 2008 and great past club shark fishing videos as well, and also our shark fishing albums will be on display .This year we have a more extensive collection of classic south Florida shark fishing pictures thanks to James Fuqua(Jimbo),Gus Ward and others ,and thanks to the constant research that we do to dig up these long lost pictures of our history.Our collection of Rene de Dios's shark pictures has multiplied thanks to his daughter Erica de Dios who loaned us his extensive collection to duplicate and share with us.We will have the new long sleeve shark club t-shirt available for all dues paying members.We ordered 6 dozen shirts from small to 4xxx so we have all sizes available and we've ordered shark club bumper stickers that will be available next week. This event is held once a year and it is our major get together of the entire year so if you like shark fishing don't miss this party.

NEW FOR 2009
$1500 TRIPLE CROWN PRIZE

New for the 2009 shark fishing season,is the addition of a Triple Crown Trophy category with $1500 cash prize for any dues paid SOUTH FLORIDA SHARK CLUB member who wins these three categories,#1 the biggest tiger shark,#2 biggest hammerhead and#3 the biggest bull shark of the year.Anyone in any state or country can enter the only requirement is you must pay the annual $35 membership to be eligible for the $1500 (U.S currency).The competition starts January 1st,2009 and ends December 31,2009.In order to be eligible for the prize you must sign up for shark club membership and send in your $35 annual fee AT ANY TIME DURING THE 2009 calender year ,but only sharks caught after we recieve your payment will be eligible for the prize and trophy. You don't have to attend meetings if you don't want to ,you don't have to be an active member if you don't want- just send in the money and then fish your arse off!!!You must post your catch with the story and pictures on this website https://www.southfloridasharkclub.com.Winners will be determined by overall length of each shark.The person catching the shark must be in two clear, legible pictures next to the shark and those two pictures must be posted on https://www.southfloridasharkclub.com . One picture must show a tape measure stretched out from the tip of the sharks nose to the tip of the shark's tail and the second picture must show an up close picture of where the tip of the tail touches the measuring tape. In order for sharks to be eligible a secret item must be in the picture.The secret item will be announced January 1st,2009 on this website.The sharks may be caught from boat or land.All three sharks must be caught by only one individual without assistance on the rod.No electric reels allowed only rod and reel allowed.If no one angler wins the three categories then the prize will be divided in three parts,,,$500 for biggest hammer of the,$500 for biggest Tiger shark of the year,and $500 for the biggest Bull shark of the year.The cash will be handed out or check mailed out to the winner or winners on Jan 1st,2010.More details to come soon.

Sharks must be measured in this form-tip of nose to tip of tail.

The second picture must be a close up of where the tip of the sharks tail falls on the tape.

We are trying to challenge the best shark fisherman from all over the world, where ever they are from, to show the world what they've got in this annual competition.So if you feel you've got what it takes come on and show off your great catches.
