What method are you using to spool the reel?

Dude I hate to tell you straight up but your just flat out wrong. Matt has three 50w and a few 80w - I have had the 50w and now have the 80w and the 30w and numerous other reels from Avet. We have fished them for several years. The math does not lie. I don't know what your doing wrong but the numbers we have are dead on for the 50w. Maybe you have a 50 regular which is the 50SDS and comes without a top cross bar or maybe your not packing the line on as tight as you think you are. I don't know what the issue is but its not a reel issue unless you think you have a wide and you really don't.

The numbers are right. Using the math I showed earlier, 950 yards of 50lb mono (.028") comes out to a reel capacity of 26.6. This is the number that Avet claims on their site.

My reel is spooled with 600 yards of 130lb JB hollow (.021") and topped with 350 yards of 100lb Sufix Superior (.039").

600yds x .021 = 12.6
350yds x .039 = 13.65

This gives us a total reel capacity of 26.25 which is a little less than the 26.6 I posted earlier...I am guessing because Sufix Superior is thicker than most other mono lines rated ao
t 100lbs. The diameter of 100lb JB Hollow is .017".

Take 26.25 / .017" and you end up with 1,544 yards of 100lb braid. Numbers do not lie. You were either not packing the line on there tight enough, or were spooling a heavier braid than 100lb...Maybe the manufacturer labeled your spool wrong. Also, the top 1/4 spool of that reel will hold alot more line than you think. The farther out on the spool you go, the more line it will hold per turn of the handle.

I'm packing it tight enough. and it was 100 lb.

Mono packs tighter then braid 950 of 50 lb mono will fit. you put 950 yards of braid that is equivelent to 50 lb mono. it wont happen I promise that. The stretch in the mono packs down tighter allowing more line.

I purhcased the reel through midwesthuntersoutlet.com

I got it cheaper then anywhere else

It was stamped exw 50/2

The reel was in low gear and I could barely turn the handle so im assuming it was packing on tight enough.

I talked to avet and they are upgrading me to the 80w.Since the reel was dropped shipped I felt the company could have used the same side plate as the exw and used a 50's spool thats what I thought happened.I do not have the reel in person to compare it now its on the way to CA.For avet to say "send it in and we will upgrade it" I've been thinking maybe the company tried to scam me? not avet but midwest hunters outlet.

Do you have a picture of the reel before you shipped it? It is very easy to tell the difference between a standard ex50 and an exw50. There really was something wrong if you were getting the small amount of line that you mentioned earlier. I helped a friend of mine spool his 30w and we put 675 yards of 100lb jb hollow on it and still had room to put on a 125 yard to shot of 80lb mono.

I would suggest googling midwesthuntersoutlet.com - Avet reels has a much better reputation then they do. I have 500yds of 130lb braid on my 30w and still have room for a 75yd Topshot of 150lb mono. That's on a 30w. Something just isn't adding up about the story here. Also there is no way to switch sideplates or spools between the two 50's. Completely different set up than senators.

Well IDK then I'm being dead ass honest if not I wouldnt havent sent the reel back.

I have the 80w coming. I'm going to put either 300 or 500 yards of 100 lb braid and top it with 130 mono

a 80w should hold like 1500 yards of 200lb power pro and only be at like half a spool.
