RC Bait Deployment vs. Kayak

Been thinking about the ideas of a remote control bait deployment lately after seeing a tiger swim under me while kayaking a bait out. I have done quite a bit of research and read one post from a while ago about the same topic but it got off topic a bit. What is everyone's thoughts about using a mini zodiac or small RC boat to take a bait out compared to a kayak? Has anyone ever done this before and can suggest some tips on the best brand or best way to build an RC boat?

MrAnsel and I talk about this all the time. I say good idea. With the right equipment, you can get your baits out a few MILES before it goes out of radio range. If you know how to ballast a boat so it is self-righting, or incapable of flipping over, you can use anything. We've even considered cheap boogie boards. Good luck and post pics if you build one!

Bait RC boats already exist. They are built for the sole purpose of bringing out your bait and dropping it. Just google "RC Bait Boat". My only concern is I see a lot of the batteries on them are only 2 hours. And when fighting wakes I would be concerned if battling back in on a low battery. I've been looking for a gas powered one so I don't have to worry about battery low on the beach.

If I get my gas powered one or find one I'll come back and post on the forum for you guys.

I have seen those bait boats and they wont stand up to the waves of beach fishing. if they get rolled over in a wave they are not self righting. as for the battery's only lasting 2 hours that is more than enough to run out 3 or 4 baits as each run should take less than 15 min from time you leave the beach till you get the boat back to the beach. To keep an rc boat from rolling over in the waves you need a large center board on the bottom and a float mounted on the top, that way it would be self righting. here is a link showing what i was talking about.

I hope this helps with your research.
