I'll take that money and buy this kayak with free shipping: http://www.austinkayak.com/products/343 ... Kayak.html -much better option & more fun OR get this kayak: http://www.rei.com/product/830930/emoti ... -top-kayak if you're less the 200lb weight. Your money - your choice.

i've never 7 gill fished... lol. i targeted soupfin and leopard shark. but... i have shark fished with sharp nose.

i know they use dog fish up in the bay area for big 7gills. use a smooth hound or small ray in some SD areas and i know you'll get a 7 or black seabass.

Donfish. not dogfish. lol. his name is Don. yes we have fished together. he pretty much taught me everything about shark fishing in socal when i was a teen. I haven't specifically targeted 7 gills, but we have fished spots that produced 7 gills.

Haha my bad. Any specific methods to get only 7s and not Leo or Bats? Were they in the surf?

Thanks

they are spot specific and yes from the surf. same methods as leos and bats. there are plenty of posts by myself, don and tom on SCSF about targeting the larger critters.

sorry, i wont give out locations. the socal coast line and the sharks inhabiting it are restricted to much smaller areas than here in florida. we don't have large passes or many reefs to target them and the ones that do exsist and produce are kept on the down low. all i can say is Structure, structure, structure! and that's not Oceanside.
