Can anyone share their experience with this reel ? From performance to how many actual yards of 100 lb PP they were able to get on ?
The specs state 775 of 100 lb braid.
Common sense would say if that holds true you could put 500 yards of 100 lb pp and have a room for a 80 lb top shot of no less then 50 yards.
Anyways what im getting to..--->> My buddy purchased this reel to fish in the BTC
He was going to spool it per specs 500 yards of 100 lb pp and 80 lb mono top shot.
Well 500 yards of 100 lb power pro is less then an 1/8 of an inch from the frame. This was spooled on at a tackle shop, we made them take it off and pack it tighter there was no difference. We then drove down to Lot Bros in Palm Beach per penns request to have them re spool it and see if the line counter was messed up or if the numbers from penn were off.
Well right now its looking that penn is off by almost 300 yards. Has anyone else encountered this issue ?
Any input/thoughts/experiences are more then appreciated!!!
I tried searching around for ya but didn't come up with anything. If I were you I would try contacting someone who has maybe spooled a few reels already. ( I would try charkbait)
