Hey guys Texan reporting in. Our beaches have slowly been swallowed up by sargassum so instead of hitting our favorite stomping grounds were highly considering trying out FL. Will the oil be on the beach or has it not hit the area yet? Im looking at Ft. Pickens is that a promising area to put big toothies on the beach? we have 3 14/0s drooling for action

I haven't seen any news reports about the oil being in the Keys. They are busy cleaning up shore line trash in the event that it does come in. The tar balls they found a few days ago were determined to have nothing to do with the oil spill in the Gulf.

Oil is going to hit the panhandle
Although recent satellite imagery (from Saturday AM) indicated that the portion of the oil moving to the SE towards the Loop Current (LC) was being entrained into a counter-clockwise rotating eddy to the north of the LC

Currents shoot upward on certain parts of the Florida gulf.
