Panama City Beach
Guys, I have an opportunity to rent a friends beachhouse on Panama City for a week this coming May. I care more about fishing than comfort, but we had planned this so that the girls would be comfortable on the trip as well. I dont know anything about the area, so for you locals, do you think I am making a mistake here? Does the beach get too crowded to fish during the day? Does that beach typically hold decent fish that time of year? In the end, I would rather catch fish than be able to cook a warm meal and take a hot shower, so what do you guys think? Thanks for the help.
Panama city beach gets too crowded for day time shark fishing but night should be just fine or go east to the cape and you will find beaches you can fish around the clock without many people in the water.

Thats what I was worried about. If I'm going out for a week of fishing, then I would like to fish during the day as well. I think I will save the beach house offer for a 4 day weekend with the girls.
Your place may be right next to the pier!
If i remember correctly they catch Mako's at that pier!
Also some very nice fish in general "bait" ![]()
Like Lake Worth pier they also get large Pelagic fish there like Sailfish and Kings.

HAVE FUN!
And NO i am not on the tourist board for Pensacola!
BUT i do have a sister that lives on base there.
You could hit the pier during the day and possilbly find some
barren beach after dark. There some great areas just south of PC.
That's another good point. We should be able to pick up plenty of bait during the day on the pier. I am talking about it with my crew right now to see what they want to do. Thanks for the help guys.
Thats what we do locally in pcb we kingfish during the day to catch bait
(a 20 lb king is great cause you can cut it half and stick it in a stocking) then at night the beaches are empty and shark fishing is not a problem, even the piers at night belong to the shark fishermen just remember that no shark fishing is allowed on the piers until dark.
