Hey everyone, first post. I'm from NJ and fish on the Jersey Shore, Long Island, and North Carolina OBX regularly and have fished in Fort Myers in the summer and fall before, but never in winter. Long story short, me and a few buddys are headed to Fort Myers the week of Feb 20th for hopefully some shark fishing. How is the bite on the west coast this time of year? What species should we be targeting? I know the east coast is on fire with blacktips, but we have a free place to stay in Fort Myers. Any advice or info is appreciated thanks everyone

I should add that I have a few good spots, and were fishing from shore. Also we're not opposed to doing a little driving, plan on fishing Marco island for at least a night or two

Gonna be hit or miss during February especially if theres a cold snap but this time of the year mostly sandbar ,blacktips and lemon sharks but you may get lucky and hook up with a big dusky ,,,they are making a comeback because of the tighter restrictions on Florida longliners over the last several years. The fishermen around the panhandle are catching them in the winter months up to 11 foot plus. Good luck.
