That one looks kinda thin but if thats a "Southern Tuna 2" then HOLY WOW! :o How the hell you do that?! Avet with the line wrapped around the reel a few times with 200lb+ braid?! jeeze, I cant even almost bend those things. I use the 14/0 VMC's if that makes a diff. I have some in the Jeep when I go downstairs in a min I'll bring one up to compare. If you bent out one of the ones I use then let me tell you I AM VERY IMPRESSED :D. Looks like you should invest in one of the "Super Marlin" hooks I just saw at Indian rocks for $21.50 a pop! No bending that thing for sure ;) . Packaging looks like these but 14/0 http://www.thehookupcapecod.com/images/VMC_southTuna_2pk_lg.jp g" target="_blank">http://www.thehookupcapecod.com/images/VMC_southTuna_2pk_lg.jp g"/> &w=250&h=418&ei=79qJUI-WLo7K9gS4-oCYBA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=341&vpy=108&dur=253&hovh=290&hovw=174&tx=83&ty=136&sig=108143042332844243964&page=1&tbnh=147&tbnw=88&start=0&ndsp=21&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:0,i:71"> http://www.google.com/imgres?q=VMC+sout ... 1,s:0,i:71

the old school Mustad 7734 Giant Tuna model is the heaviest built J that Mustad ever made, they are amazing looking, hard to find though. I have a few super marlins, they are heavy duty also, best built J in their line up currently.

thats great, like I said I am sure it will catch sharks, just hate paying more money for the China hook then I was paying for the Norway hook with the longer knife edge point/barb . I have been fishing China made Mustad Circle hooks for years now, caught hundreds of sharks on them, but they are anywhere from 40 cents to $1.19 per hook, not $3 to 4, or even 5 or 6 like some of the larger sizes of J's.

also where are you buying them for a $1 each and which exact model is it? my local shop checked and their cost on the hook is is $24 for a 10 pack, which allows for a 30 to 50% mark up to hit in between the high and low end of the retail prices I found on the net
