New Lure Invention - Looking for feedback
I developed a product that I think will be excellent for fishing (Sharks primarily) and looking for some input from fisherman. I use rattles for my bass fishing and wanted to make my own but improve on the basic design. I came up with an idea that will add the attracting feature of producing an electromagnetic field to the rattle.
My rattle not only produces sound and vibration but also generates its own electrical current. The rattle can be inserted into baits/lures or attached by a plastic clip (included with rattles) to swivels or eyelets of lures.
The design is simple as the rattle is made of copper and inside are BBs to produce the rattle plus a magnet. The magnet creates a current as it moves inside of the copper rattle tube. The current produced is in the same range as what the body of a fish would put out.
I know fish, sharks especially, use electroreception to find food. This rattle will allow artificial lures or cut bait to have the same attracting element as live bait.
I am still working out some final details, but hope to be ready to sell these within a few weeks. I have produced the rattles designed the packaging, filed the Patent, and built up stock in order to start selling. My next step is to get feedback and try to figure out marketing strategies. This is why I need the help of fellow fishermen to help me out.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Jeff

Just saw this.....GREAT IDEA Brother , it'll work ,
I used RAT-LTRAPS alot and caught alot of fish
I found 1-1/2 OZ. Rat-L-Traps ; Red/White, and a Gold foil halo color They are the size of your HAND ,BIG, and had BIG sharks hit but lost them
I watched a Shark chasing fish one day at Lovers Key Beach; saw a piece of the dorsal ,&thebig caudal fin plainly sawing back& forth chasing down the fish he got,throwing spray ,making the smaller fish panic and jump out the water,
Really put a show on
It was one of if not THE longest cast of my life , with a custom # 20, 7' TORNADO ROD /PENN 8500SS spin reel;
As soon as that Rat-L-Trap touched down he nailed it,
I actually thought it had snagged , it wouldn't budge then I hit him a few times to make sure it was hooked and then he took off and ripped line off
that penn like crazy, I had 40# Berkely but no steel leader ,I wasn't actually looking for sharks that day { that figures right?}
When he was close to half way down to the spool I thumbed the side of it ; and he slowed ,but then it went slack,
When I got it all reeled up 12 or 15 feet of line was like it had been sandpapered
Those Rattles and that Magnet creating electrical impulses definitely will get Sharks' interest .Good Luck with it!!

Thanks for your thoughts. I am primarily a freshwater fisherman and look forward to opinions on this from those that fish saltwater. DixieOutLawSHRKR if you are interested, I would be willing to send you a pack to try out. The only thing that I ask is that you give me some feedback when you receive them. If you would like a free trial pack just send me your address and I will mail a pack out.
Thanks again,Jeff

Sharks really love the electrical current. I have a video on my webpage showing a shark ignoring live fish and biting at electrical currents in the sand sent from researchers. Check it out at shockwave-rattle.com
