I'm like everyone else blue fish. The color of line matters a lot. When there is a lot of phosphorus it don't matter what color the line is. Don't feel bad that shit happens. Ya hit a streak and everything ya put in the water gets choped. John has lost 5 leaders in 5 nights. We catch them back sometimes. Sometimes on the other baits or next week on a bait in the same place. On the beachya can get it back most of the time. Take a weighted treble hook and drag it behind the kayak on a pole and ya will feel it when the hooks gets it. Depending on how close to the beach ya get choped is how hard it is to retrieve. Most of the time it gets it close to the beach. Another chopper is a manta ray. A manta has a ridge between it's horns. The line gets between it's horns ya get a screaming run and a waisted night. I have seen schools of lady fish frey it bad. Had mullet cut it before. Ya put 300 yes of line out you gona get freys and cut. No way around it. If it's a sandy bottom and fish is biting it the awnser is a drab line and let it lay slack on the bottom if the surf will allow. Fishing the beach when it's rough is hard on the line. Personly I use my ole Dacron in drab colors. My 80w has 1/2 spool of braid with the Dacron on top. Every time my braid hits the water it gets it. If ya let it the Dacron will lay on the bottom. Different beaches different ways. Sometimes here if ya run mono tight the mantas will get it quick. Get used to buying line and leaders.

as catchinjiants said on another post recently that your line can snap from to much water friction and the drag the water puts on the line and the more line in the water and the heavy the line the more drag is created so that will snap your line often too
