couldnt seem to stop this thing it did this for 49 minutes and my reel locked up and i lost him

Big shark for sure but judging by the speed not a big hammerhead because they will usually take line much faster and dump that 9/0 in less then 1 minute.By the speed of the run I'm thinking maybe a nice tiger or bull possibly over 350 lbs.Thanks for posting the report .I see this was your first post can tell us a bit about yourself and the shark fishing in your area.

Nice video. Sounds like a Tiger or Big Bull but you never know. Hope you get em next time. Here is a video of a Big Bull taking some really nice drag on my 12/0. This was in early 2011. The spool was packed and this guy took about 250 - 300 yards. Fought harder than any Bull I think I have ever caught including the ones from the Bridges. One of my Biggest Bulls

sorry havent been all that active in a while but i can definitely get some tiger posts here soon this summer it seemed like that was all we caught the past two summers however i cant produce pictures when fishing from the pier we have a hard time safely landing them and usually end up cutting cable
