My first shark fishing trip ever ! (St Andrews state park)

Well my weekend did not go as expected.......it turned into a normal get away with the kids playing more than fishing. Kids were to tired to fish Thursday night...........Friday evening I ran my baits out between the pier and the first hotel and sat down to wait for action. Then I noticed the June grass was getting all over my line and basically tangled them completely up which took me 2 hours to get them untangled and all the grass off the line. I was so frustrated I packed it up for the night. On Saturday evening I went to Sandy Point and fished hoping there was no grass in the water over there and it only had a little but not enough to keep me from fishing. I actually had 4-5 little runs on the baits maybe 3-5 seconds but would not take the bait completely. On my last bait I took out I was not half way back in to the beach and my kids started hollering to me and I could here my reel I just ran out screaming so I kicked it into high gear paddling back to beach but by the time I got to the reel-n-rod it had stopped. I packed it up around 2am & headed back to camp. Things did not work out like I planned but I had fun and I got an adrenaline kick from the sound of my reels from the few short runs I got........I can only imagine what it will be like when I actually do get something good on my 2 6/0's. Maybe I will have better luck on July 4th weekend.
