i am looking for info on Elmo Horine last fished with him in 76 and completly lost trackof him after I moved back to Texas.

Are you talking about Elmo from the panhandle- if so Check out http://www.pensacolafishingforum.com and do a search for Elmo I believe he used to fish Rody Pate on the Navarre pier.i have seen articles mentioning his name .

Elmo died several years ago. He caught so many big sharks. My uncle watched him catch a 15' hammer off pcola pier. The first time i went shark fishing with my dad and uncles, they tied a water hose around me and Elmo pulled me up over the pier rail. All the storys that got passed down to Roddie and Bill Olson, that was told to me is why I have stuck with it for so many years. I hope I can carry his land based shark fishing legeacy on and give others those dreams to try to live out.

Sad to hear , but not unexpected. He was in his 60s when I fished with him, quite a man, a living legend. I fished with him almost daily, or was at his house. I knew when he was at Ft. Pickins, just took my binoculars up to the catwalk on the Lex and looked across the sound for his orange truck with the turquoise plywood camper. In many ways those were the best of days.
