there crazy guys they know more than you would think..they told my buddy they know everybody that fishes down there they had pictures that look like i posed for them.along with a couple other people in the clubs pictures. but i was never aware of it. they basicly told my buddy anywhere we fish down there along with a couple other people from the club. they named off damn near every spot.. its wild they said they know as soon as someone that doesnt live there comes in to islamorada.. theyve pulled us over harrased us. one time they wrote us $500 worth of tickets saying the registration was bad there was no insurance when i showed them proof of both,we had to take a cab from marathon to islamorada they took the license plate off and all after ripping the car apart for no reason.. just so i could go to the courthouse the next morning and show the lady the samething i showed the cops the night before and she droped all the tickets after i paid for a $50 cab ride. its crazy almost makes me not want to fish down there just becuz of the bs. they have pictures of about 10 people fishing this tournament and they all look like we sat there and smiled for them but yet i had no clue mine was taken..

I have no idea what this is all about.I can tell you that we fish the keys every week of the year without exception and unless you are speeding,smoking pot out in public or playing loud music that disturbs others or breaking some other law the cops will not bother you.Fishing is my religion and I practice it with complete peace in my heart,,,,,,,,figure out what you're doing and why the cops come to see you -you probably allready must have some Idea.
As far as the club again complete peace.The only thing we are guilty is being a bunch of hard-core land based shark fisherman.

Not exactly but sort of.
About twenty years ago I was on vacation in Marathon. While I was fishing from the shore, several police cars rushed by and one stopped. A cop came out asked what I was doing which surprised me since he could see I was fishing. He gave me a hard time about being barefoot and not wearing a shirt and asked where I got "all the fishing equipment". I only had one rod with me.
I told him I was on vacation and thought not wearing a shirt and shoes was ok, and that I bought the equipment many years ago. He asked "how do we know you didn't take it off someone's boat?" I can't remember if I even said anything at that point. After a couple of minutes, he left. I was so mad that for an hour or two, I imagined smart remarks I could've made to him but didn't.
After all these years though, the keystone cop incident is part of the fun of my memories of the vacation. Got several 3 foot barracudas on 10# spin and tubelures by the bridges and popped off a much bigger one from a seawall near a restuarant called something like "The Quay". That one had a tail the size of a full grown tarpon's.
Fished the Keys for years, and the keys are sort of like West Palm Beach, the locals care very much about there town and are very nosey,snoopy,and persitent with anything wrong going on around them.Honestly as someone from miami i do not blame them. The Riff Raff crowd that ventures in to the keys from miami is filled with alot of dumb asses who steal,poloute,and do whatever they want in a beautiful quiet town like the Florida keys. They see rods on the charter boats and they steal them, they bring generators out on the bridges and for 3 days str8 ive seen them throw every can,bottle,bag,and paper they touch right in to the water with garbage cans all around them.
They pull into a quiet retirement breakfast spot with Daddy Yankee blasting, and get out of the car cursing fukkk you bitckkkkk this and bitckk that, because its there every day miami language.
So yahh in my opinion i am angry to be categorized(hispanic from miami) but can you blame the keys locals when they see garbage like this every weekend.

yeah i saw some idiots like that in Hialeah over the weekend!
just went down there monday and tuesday and yet again they never amaze me i was fishing channel 5 and a cop made me reel all my shark rods in and show him what i was using for bait and then i was at the hotel that night and a cop came behind the hotel and asked me wat i was doing i mean come on its crazy.. but on a diffrent note we did have a realy nice bull on at channel 5 for a little while till he pulled hooks prbly 9ft a damn solid fish.
