Kast King Braid

So I just got two spools 1000meters long (1094 yds) of gray colored kast king braid. 100 lb test. Its an 8 strand braid and boy is it slick! Its is a smidge thicker than more expensive braid like power pro but it cost me 50$ per spool on amazon so i went for it. Its still thinner than 50 lb mono so i figured im getting lots of capacity on my senator 6/0 and 9/0. I know i know, i only get 25 lbs of drag or so but my logic is different. I figured if this cheap stuff only tests out at half its rated strength i am still ahead of the game by gaining capacity over mono and cost is still low. Being that its sorta thick i think it will have better abraision resistance than the super thin stuff. Anyway, i havnt done any field tests to test breaking strength yet but i did tie it to the hitch of my truck and put alot, not locked, drag on it and pulled up till i thought my 7' daiwa beefstick was gonna bust and the braid didnt break. I most likely wont be pulling that gard on it cuz il give up line before i risk breaking my rod. It did bleed a bit when putting it on the reels. Had my son bear down on the spool with soaked towel so i put it on tight and wet. My hands were pretty colored by time i was done. I figure it will wash itself in the ocean so no biggie. Ill be goin out to indian shores beach in a few weeks. Ill post again let ya know how it holds up. Anyone else try kastking? If it proves itself it sure is cost effective. The same amount of bullbuster would. Cost me 200$+. I might get lucky with this i might not. Gotta try! Got mouths to feed and sharkin dont get much funds.

Whatever you do, do it with a smile!

Well fishin trip went ok. Not much action, just one shark. 7'6" nurse. 30 min fight. I kinda went easy on the thing cuz it was first time with everything. Kadtking did great. Soaked for 6 hrs laying on the sandbar and it wasnt frayed or anything. So far i give it A+. Ties well cuz its a but thicker that PP but still super slick.

Went fishing on bean point AMI. One run on a huge mullet. I think i got excited and setup on it too fast. Pulled out of its mouth. Nothing ever hit again all night. Got hung on a swim bouy and tried to pull it loose. Wouldnt budge. Had to yak out there and get it off. But testament to the braid, i tried to break it off. Couldnt. 9/0 senator with locked drag and holding spool with fingers on 100lb rod, just sliding my feet. I think its good line for cheap stuff. I still give A+.

dang, that is a testament for a thousand yards of braid for $50! I've always shied away from those so called deals, or that China stuff in fear that it would crap out on the first nice fish. But what you say, holding up well. Not too many test this stuff with actual fishing, especially on the sand for sharks. I guess only time will tell. Seems to be holding up just as good as the name brand super lines. Thanks for the report. I'll have to look into this line now.
