Some times when all the rigs are out and there is nothing better to do than wait, I tend to get very creative, and after seeing these types of fish around where I live there are certain species that are really abundant and caught my attention, and possibly when the fishing is cold but the shark fishing is hot and I need a bait i can catch one of these. I wonder if anyone here has ever hooked or caught sharks on the following before?

-yellow stingrays (those small 3lb round ones with spots, sometimes called skates)
-skipjacks (looks like a mackeral, true name is leather jack)
-rainbow runners
-barjack
-porgy
-margate
-trippletail
-triggerfish
-any freshwater species???

Thanks everyone.

Just an average fisherman.

I used to work on a party boat and at one time or another I've seen sharks chomp on literally every fish on your list with the exception of a trigger, but I've seen flipper eat them so I guess sharks will too. We use rainbow runners up here for kings and 'hoo's and I regularly use skipjack's with great success because they are such an oily fish. :D
