June Shark Fishing

Hey guys,

Hope all of your Christmas' and New Years' went well! It has been a while since I've posted, but I have a 2 week period, June 3rd-16th, where I will be down in Pompano Beach. I really wanted to get some shark fishing in, whether on charter, with others, or any way that I can have the best possible chance at some numbers, even if that is smaller sharks.

I'm not just stuck in Pompano either. I am willing to drive a distance to get to where the fishing is. Any suggestions, recommendations, or tips are greatly appreciated!

Thanks a mil'!

Ray

I'm sorry, I'm assuming I stated that wrong. From what I've heard, the summer time might be a harder time to fish for sharks.

I was just hoping someone might have some information on what would be some of my best chances to get some solid shark fishing in during the 2 weeks I am down in Pompano Beach, but I am willing to travel to other areas if that is better. I am a beginner that just caught a couple of small nurse sharks last summer at Pompano, and am hoping to step it up a notch this summer, and hopefully have a chance at catching some black tips or spinners.

Any helpful information or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all, and have a great weekend!

Ray

I fish in pompano and it was definitely slower during the summer. We caught one blacktip but that was about it shark wise but you do have opportunities at others like jacks and tarpon. The problem with pompano during the summer is the water can get very dirty from the inlet and I don't think the sharks like this so it might be worth going further north or south and finding cleaner water. Also fresh bait is a must!

Thankyou Tarponhunter for the reply and advice! I'm just, Staying, in Pompano though, but I am willing to travel anywhere north or south to find where I could have a real good chance of catching some. I am open to any advice on where I could have a good chance, and if it comes down to being just the west coast at this time of year, then I am open to that as well. Except if it's real far north.

Thanks again for your help, and good fishing the next time your able to get out!

Peace, and take care!

Ray
